Manual or automatic: an honest answer
It depends on what you will drive afterwards, and how you like to learn.
Choose manual if
- you want a licence that covers both manual and automatic cars
- the car you are likely to drive after your test is a manual
- you are happy to spend early lessons on clutch control and gears
Choose automatic if
- you would rather put all your attention on the road, not the gearbox
- the car waiting for you at home is an automatic or electric
- you have tried manual and found it was holding you back
An automatic licence only covers automatic cars. Unsure? Say so when you enquire.
Test Day
You take your test in the car you learned in, with the person who taught you waiting when you get back.

Questions people ask first
How long is a lesson?
1 hour, 90 minutes or 2 hours. Longer lessons give you time to reach busier roads and get back without rushing. Tell Titus what suits you and he will advise.
Will anyone else be in the car?
No. Lessons are strictly one-to-one, with no piggyback lessons. You are never asked to pick up the next pupil, and your lesson time is yours.
Is it cheaper to book 10 hours?
Yes. Ten manual hours are £400 rather than £420, and ten automatic hours are £420 rather than £450.
I'm very nervous. Is that a problem?
No. Many of Titus’s reviews come from nervous learners and their parents. The words they use most are calm, patient and reassuring. Read them here.
Do you teach learners with additional needs?
Yes. Titus has experience teaching drivers with additional needs. Tell him what helps, in the enquiry form or on the phone, and he will adapt lessons around it.
What does the Test Day fee cover?
The Test Day fee is £120 and includes use of the car for your test. Titus gets you to the test centre ten minutes early. What happens on test day.
